Are you religious?
Declining participation in religion
For years now, participation in religion has been declining in America. I guess I'm curious as to whats causing this, and what people are considering themselves afterwards. I myself have never been apart of a religion or given myself any sort of title(Atheist, Agnostic etc...). I don't and have never felt any overwhelming need to be apart of any religious or spiritual group. And unless im blind, I feel like a lot of other people are in the same boat as myself. When you factor in how crazy life is between school, work, family and friends who has the time or patience to even think or worry about such things? So I guess my question is to you, how do you view and feel about religion?
Re: Declining participation in religion
There seems to be a lot of spiritual apathy in America. People don't really have a reason to want to draw close to a spiritual source these days. If there were hard times such as famine or sickness or natural disaster, then maybe that feeling would change. For now, everyone acts self sufficient.
